Nathan is 12 years old and is so grateful and excited to be part of The Hockey Sweater! You may have seen him last year in Ma-buhay: Filipinos Singing for Their Lives Reading (Rainbow), as well as Eric in Matilda: The Musical (Royal MTC). He is currently a member of the Junior Musical Theatre Company. Nathan will appear in this summer’s The Wizard of Oz (Rainbow). Nathan is a competitive dancer (ballet, jazz, hiphop, tap, lyrical, contemporary and acro) at Marquis Dance Academy and has won several overall top awards, judges choice awards and scholarships at dance competitions and conventions. He also competed at the Dance World Cup Canada in Whistler, BC and placed first and second for his jazz and tap solos. He also loves to draw, paint, play ukulele, create and edit videos when not dancing. Nathan would like to thank his family, friends and teachers for all their support and encouragement. Special thanks to Joy Lazo and Sharon Crandall for helping him prepare for this role.

This is Keara’s 2nd season performing with Rainbow Stage having performed in the children’s chorus of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in the summer of 2018. She began dancing at the age of 3 with SSSOD and her passion for musical theatre began at 9. Keara has performed with the Mini Pop Kids, Kids Palooza and in Two Turtle Doves on the Hallmark channel. She was cast as Annie in her High School Musical in April 2022. I’d like to thank my parents, friends, family, dance teachers, CSNC teachers and my voice coach Joy Lazo for their love and support.

Luke Dziver is a Winnipeg-born student, dancer, singer, and performer whose interest in theatre began at a young age. Luke’s love for music and acting lead him to his first on-stage performances at the age of 10, performing a solo at his elementary school Holiday Concert and later that year was cast as “Cat in the Hat” in the Linden Meadows performance of Seussical Jr. With his first year of on-stage experience fueling a desire to excel, Luke embraced the life of a theatre performer. Luke attended classes at MTYP before joining JMTC at the age of 11 and in the spring of 2022 he joined Piper Pride Productions. Luke enjoys spending time with friends and meeting new people.

Dex is thrilled to be part of Rainbow Stage’s production of The Hockey Sweater! Theatre credits include: Billy Elliot/Theatre Calgary where he performed the title role of Billy, A Christmas Carol /Theatre Calgary (Tiny Tim), New York New York/42nd Street Productions (Featured Dancer), Thoroughly Modern Millie/Calgary Dance Express (Ching Ho), Cinderella Kids (Gus), Peter Pan Jr (Michael), and Singin’ In The Rain Jr (Cosmo Brown) for Drewitz Dance Productions.
You can find Dex either at the dance studio or at the rink where he plays for the U15 Okotoks Oilers. Hope you enjoy the show!

Hannah is ecstatic to be a part of this incredible cast and creative team of The Hockey Sweater in her Rainbow Stage debut! Hannah has performed in 18 community and educational theatre productions such as Matilda in Matilda Jr. and Roxie Hart in Chicago. Hannah studies vocal performance with Kelly Robinson and is a recipient of the Winnipeg Music Festival Scholarship, Associated Manitoba Arts Festival Scholarship and Canada Conservatory Medal for Excellence.
Hannah would like to thank Theatre Dance Centre and Meraki Theatre Productions for instilling love and devotion for theatre in her, and Ms. Jennifer Tomanek, Ms. Kayla Coppens and Mr. Robbin Fontaine at Grant Park High School performing arts program for their outstanding encouragement and support.

Erik fell in love with hockey at the age of 4 years old when he stepped onto the ice for his first official Timbits Hockey Season. Since then, Erik has enjoyed much success in numerous sports that he deeply loves. While hockey is his passion, as an experienced athlete, Erik has also made time to study dance and music through the years. While Erik has been primarily an athlete over the last several years, he has always had ability and interest in performing, and when the open-audition call was announced for The Hockey Sweater, it was a magical opportunity! Erik is so excited and grateful for this opportunity, and beyond thrilled for his debut performance in Rainbow Stage’s The Hockey Sweater.

Davison is thrilled to be making his Rainbow Stage debut in The Hockey Sweater: A Musical. When not singing or dancing, he loves spending time playing hockey and soccer, or being at the cabin. He would like to thank his mom, dad, Dylan, family, and teachers at École Sage Creek School and dance for their love, support and knowledge. He hopes everyone enjoys being back watching live theatre! Alba is so excited to be a part of the cast of The Hockey Sweater. She has been singing and dancing since she could walk and talk. Her passion for performing is contagious. Appearing as a soloist in BeltFest 2020 at Rainbow gave her a taste of the stage and she’s been hoping to return ever since. She has trained extensively in all styles of dance, including musical theatre. When she’s not rehearsing, she’s directing and choreographing her younger siblings in homemade routines. Alba is looking forward to working with and learning alongside all the other artists this summer and she’s so thankful for this opportunity.

Yasmine is thrilled to be back at Rainbow Stage for her third season! She previously performed in Shrek: The Musical and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Yasmine has trained at the Manitoba Theatre for Young People, Children’s Acting Centre, Winnipeg Studio Theatre, Shelley Shearer School of Dance and Expressions Film Studio. She is a proud Winnipegger who is thankful to all who support the arts! She sends special thanks to her family, friends and coaches for always encouraging her to follow her dreams.

Kaelyn is thrilled to be joining this talented cast in her very first season at Rainbow Stage! Kaelyn’s career highlights include; Matilda The Musical (RMTC), years of award winning performances in dance and music competitions, conventions and festivals, several Hallmark Channel movies, as well as being a stunt performer on CBC’s Burden Of Truth. Many thanks to Shelley Shearer School Of Dance, Expressions Film Studio, Studioworks, VMC, coaches (past and present): Melanie Whyte, Rachel Cameron, Joseph Sevillo, Catherine Wreford, Joy Lazo, Allison Phipps and the numerous other mentors she’s had the privilege of learning from who inspire her to pursue her passions every day. Born and Raised in Winnipeg Canada, Kevin recently moved back to Winnipeg from Los Angeles where he had lived for the last 23 years. He most recently appeared in Strike! at Rainbow Stage (AJ Andrews) Other credits include: Mamma Mia (Sam) for Rainbow Stage, The Addams
Family for Dry Cold Productions (Gomez) and Stars of David for the Winnipeg Jewish Theatre. He also directed Forever Plaid for Rainbow Stage in 2008. Select theatre credits include the Canadian Premiere of Miss Saigon, the Canadian National Tour of Les Misérables for Mirvish Productions. Other favourite roles include “Frankie” in Forever Plaid in both Toronto and Vancouver and “Josh Baskin” in Big: The Musical at Rainbow Stage. He has also traveled the US and Scotland as the lead singer in Celticfusion, a celtic rock musical.

Mr. Nelken last appeared at Rainbow Stage in its 2011 production of West Side Story (Doc). A member of CAEA for over forty years, he has performed with THE STRATFORD FESTIVAL, RMTC, MTYP, PTE, TPM, SIR, WJT, and The Winnipeg Fringe Festival. Out of town he has performed at The Citadel, Theatre Calgary, the Belfry, ATP, NAC, Persephone, The Factory Theatre, Theatre Sudbury, and Magnus Theatre. Notable roles: Shelley, Glengarry Glen Ross (MTC), Josef, Butcher (PTE), Shylock, Merchant of Venice (SIR), Eli, Zadie’s Shoes (PTE and Factory Theatre), Arthur Conan Doyle, The Elmwood Visitation (TPM), Floyd, Cold Comfort (PTE). For the 2019 Stratford season, Mr. Nelken played in Nathan the Wise (Patriarch) and Birds of a Kind (Etgar).

Devin Lowry is thrilled to be making his debut performance at Rainbow Stage with ‘The Hockey Sweater’! Originally hailing from the small-town community of Darlingford; Devin is a graduate of The University of Winnipeg Theatre and Film Honours Program in 2019 where he starred in such performances as: Frankenstein, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Middletown. During his tenure in school, he also co-created two Devised Theatre pieces: Fragile Things and You Are (T)Here. A recent alumnus of The Village Conservatory, he composed another creation piece called: Choosing Sides. Devin also had the honour of performing in the Winnipeg’s Fringe Festival where he starred in the 5-star show- Your Brain on Anxiety. He would like to recognize that he wouldn’t be here following his passion without the support of his community, friends and family. Enjoy the show! GO LEAFS GO!

Katie is a Métis performer, director, educator and hockey mom. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Katie is currently the owner and director of Junior Musical Theatre Company (JMTC), the Assistant Program Director of Pimootayowin Creators Circle with the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, a Directing Fellow with the ThisGen Mentorship through Why Not Theatre and is a mother to a creative 7-year-old and a joy-filled 1-and-a-half-year-old. Recent performance credits include: The Rez Sisters (RMTC), Midwinter Mosey & A Year with Frog and Toad (Manitoba Theatre for Young People), Wolf Joe Cartoon (Voice Director & Character Voice – Media Rendezvous & Amberwood Entertainment), Breaking Up Is Hard to Do (Rainbow Stage), South Pacific (Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra), Pippen Reimagined & American Idiot (Winnipeg Studio Theatre).

Carlyn is excited to be making her Rainbow Stage debut! She was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba and has been involved in music and theatre from a young age. Carlyn’s recent credits include: A Threepenny Opera (Polly – Sick & twisted/AA Battery Theatre), 35MM: A Musical Exhibition (Ethereal Fantazy Productions), 12th Night: A Musical (Olivia – The Village Conservatory). Carlyn also recently completed two years with The Village Conservatory for Music Theatre program, where she had the opportunity to further pursue her passion for song writing. Away from the stage, you will find Carlyn working as a Kinesiologist and Personal Trainer, or spending time with her rescue dog, and husband.

Originally from Battleford, SK, Matt is a graduate of the Canadian College of Performing Arts. He has performed at many theatres across Canada and six season at the Stratford Festival. Locally he has been seen in The Midwinter Mosey, A Year with Frog and Toad (MTYP); Cinderella (Rainbow); Cabaret, White Christmas (RMTC). You can catch Matt on screen in The Porter and SkyMed (CBC), Feist’s music videos “1234” and “My Moon, My Man”, and the boyband SOUND-CHECK, on Odd Squad (Netflix). Choreography credits include: Guys & Dolls In Concert (WSO) and Mamma Mia (Lawyer’s Show @ RMTC). He would like to thank 10 Talent Management, his husband, Tyrell, and their fur children, Fenwick, Oliver, and Navy for all of their love and support.
