School Awards 2014

School Awards

Update – Oct, 2024

For many years, Rainbow Stage has proudly supported and attended middle school and high school musical theatre productions in Winnipeg and surrounding communities, presenting school awards on an annual basis prior to one of our summer performances under the dome.

In Fall 2025, we’re excited to expand our commitment to musical theatre education with a newly enhanced lineup of programs. These initiatives will extend our reach to schools throughout Manitoba, creating meaningful opportunities for students and educators across the province.

As we prepare for this exciting launch, our school awards program will be temporarily on hold to allow us to focus on the development and rollout of these new offerings.

We look forward to bringing these transformative experiences to middle and high schools across Manitoba!

Sincerely,
Rainbow Stage

School Awards

Rainbow Stage is pleased to encourage excellence for both high school and middle school musical theatre productions by awarding annual recognition! A Rainbow Stage committee, comprised of Board members along with dedicated and knowledgeable community members, from many walks of life, all with a passion for musical theatre, will attend and adjudicate your school musical. Every aspect of the production will be assessed: casting (leads and chorus), direction, choreography, staging, music, sets, house/stage/crew management, props, program, lighting, sound, and costumes. Winners will be selected from amongst the schools that apply and contacted by Rainbow Stage staff. The winners will be invited to participate in a reception and award ceremony in August, where they will receive their School Performance Award certificate, along with a cash grant.

–Corinne Barrett DeWiele, 2023-2024 Education & Outreach Committee Chairperson
