What

The new Manitoba musical MA-BUHAY: FILIPINOS SINGING FOR THEIR LIVES will showcase its development at Rainbow Stage – Canada’s largest, longest-running open-air professional theatre.

Twenty professional and developing Filipino musical theatre artists will present a staged reading so that you can get a first glimpse of the musical as it sets its sights on Broadway!

ABOUT THE MUSICAL

 Created by Joseph Sevillo and featuring music and lyrics by Joseph Sevillo and Josh Caldo, the musical is set in Winnipeg, against the backdrop of the immensely influential singing competition: STAR ON THE RISE. Using contemporary styles of music such as pop, R&B, rap and musical theatre, its Filipino authors are actively altering the musical theatre landscape to include new forms of music, dance, and culture in an energetic and moving musical for Filipino/non-Filipino Canadians and international audiences alike.

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

Under the current Manitoba Public Health Order, we are only permitting those who can display proof of immunization against Covid-19 along with one piece of matching government issued ID for this event. Without Vaccine Verification, we are not able to admit patrons into our facility. There are currently no government approved exceptions to this order.

Masks are currently required while traveling within the walls of the facility and can be removed once seated.

Guests will be asked to sign a Covid-19 screening declaration prior to entry.

Rainbow Stage Covid-19 protocols are subject to change, as per changes to Provincial Public Health Orders.
