Can I bring children? Do I need to buy a ticket for my baby?
Much of our programming is specific to family audiences, but if a show is not, please use discretion in choosing to bring your child to a performance. If you’re unsure about the suitability of a show, feel free to call our Box Office for guidance.
Every patron, regardless of age, requires a ticket. Babes in arms are not permitted in the theatre.
I lost something at Rainbow Stage how do I get it back?
If you have lost an item at the stage you can email: foh@rainbowstage.ca with a description of your lost item. The Front of House Manager will schedule a time to meet you at the stage in the park to retrieve the lost item. The box office windows open 2 hours prior to any performance and the Front of House Manager is there until close of performance each night.
If you can’t make it down to the stage again throughout the season all lost and found items are relocated to our administration offices, come the fall for a short period of time. At the end of the season (September), any items not claimed by their owners are either disposed off or donated to an appropriate organization.
If I’m sitting at the back of the theatre, will I be able to see?
The reality is there isn’t a “bad” seat in the house. Of course, the closer you sit, the more detail you’ll be able to see. The seating is arranged so that you will be able to see the whole stage no matter how far back you are sitting. When buying tickets online, an image showing the view from those seats will be displayed before the final checkout.
If it rains, am I going to get wet?
Is there an intermission? What is “intermission”? Are there washrooms on site?
Washroom facilities are found near the front entry doors. We recommend arriving early and using the washroom before the show as at intermission time, the lines are quite long. For the August production, additional portable facilities will be available on the South end of the building through the side doors. The doors and facilities are monitored by staff and volunteers.
How long is the show?
What time should I be at the theatre?
Patrons attending a matinee performance should expect to encounter heavy traffic in and around Kildonan Park as the weekends are full of various activities taking place at Kildonan Park. Patrons should always keep in mind that Kildonan Park is City of Winnipeg property and with a variety of family fun activities than occur from day to day – give yourself ample time to enter the park and find parking.
Although Rainbow Stage has a parking lot – patrons who hope to avoid congestion when arriving and leaving are encouraged to park on a side street and walk to the theatre. If you are picking your tickets up at the box office, you should allow yourself extra time as there are often long lines at the box office windows.
What if I’m late?
Can I take pictures during the show?
Can I book a taxi to pick me up after the show ends?
There is a phone in the box office for emergency use that is available until intermission.
What time does the box office open at the park?
Is there food at the theatre?
