Douglas Paraschuk

Set & Properties Designer

Douglas has been the Design Coordinator for the Stratford Shakespeare Festival for 22 seasons with over 30 production design credits, as well as The Magician’s Nephew and Stephen Fry’s Mythos for the Shaw Festival. Select Director of Design credits include: the 2014-19 Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show, the Opening and Closing ceremonies for the Arab Games and the Asian Games in Doha, Qatar, the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics Opening, Medals, and Closing Ceremonies, the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the Men’s World Handball Championships, and David Atkins Enterprises (the Americas). Over the past 35 years Doug has designed for television, theatre, film and touring productions and has created hundreds of productions for regional theatres across Canada, the United States, and Europe.

Scott Henderson

Lighting Designer

Scott is excited to be at Rainbow Stage for the summer of 2019. Now in his 20th season designing for Rainbow, Scott has lit 30 Rainbow Stage productions. Most recently, he designed the lighting for the RMTC productions of John and The Cottage, as well as Kiss of the Spiderwoman for Dry Cold. Scott received a Lifetime Achievement Award for Lighting Design at the 2018 Evie Awards. He is grateful to have had several opportunities to work with the late Evelyn Anderson, one of the best performers on this or any other stage. Scott is a member of the Associated Designers of Canada and IATSE Local 63 and a graduate of Ryerson Theatre School. Special thanks to Karen, Sean and Alex for their love and support.

NARDA McCARROLL

Set & Properties Designer

Narda is an award-winning set, costume and lighting designer based in Calgary. She graduated with an MFA in theatre design from the University of Alberta in 2000. Since then her work has been seen on stages across the country including: Stratford Festival, NAC, Grand Theatre, Drayton Entertainment, Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Manitoba Theatre for Young People, Persephone, Globe Theatre, Citadel Theatre, Theatre Calgary, Alberta Theatre Projects, Vertigo, Belfry Theatre, Vancouver Playhouse and Western Canada Theatre. Narda designed the costumes for The Freewill Shakespeare Festival in Edmonton for 16 seasons. She also designed the costumes for the feature film Cut Bank. Visit narda.ca to see images of her work.

Emily Porter

Sound Designer

Emily Porter is an ADC sound designer/engineer who has worked on theatrical projects across Canada and the US. She is the owner of Dual Audio Services. For Rainbow Stage: Beauty & the Beast (2018), Breaking Up is Hard to Do, Mamma Mia!, Little Shop of Horrors, Shrek The Musical. Other credits include: Mamma Mia!, Mary Poppins, Into the Woods (Neptune Theatre); Brighton Beach Memoirs,The Jazz Singer, Kindertransport, Sister Rosensweig (Harold Green Jewish Theatre), Footloose (Sheridan College), Jacob Two Two (Young People’s Theatre); Apocalypsis (Associate SD, Luminato); On the Rocks, The Way Back to Thursday (Theatre Passe Muraille); The Arsonists, ‘Art’ (Canadian Stage); Bloodless (Theatre20); Love From Afar (COC); St Carmen of the Main (NAC/Canadian Stage); The Admirable Crichton (Shaw Festival).

Costume Coordinator

Nancy’s previous shows serving as Costume Coordinator for Rainbow Stage include: Annie, The Little Mermaid, Sister Act, Shrek: The Musical, Beauty and the Beast, and Strike! The Musical. She is excited to return for Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella, and to be part of the creative team that makes this magical production come alive!
