Rainbow Stage is now accepting electronic submissions from adult comedic actors, singers, and dancers of all ethnicities, religions, ages (16+), sizes, shapes, and orientations for the following roles in our 2016 Season production of Shrek The Musical:

Rehearsals Start: July 14th, 2016
Preview: August 10th, 2016
Opening: August 11th, 2016
Closing: August 31st, 2016
Holdover: September 2nd, 2016

Equity members will be seen first at all audition calls. Equity members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract. CAEA members please bring your membership card to the audition.
(High Baritone / Tenor or Alto with High Belt in the R&B/Gospel tradition; C3 to B4)
A talking donkey that joins Shrek on the run from Farquaad’s guards. Afflicted with verbal diarrhea, Donkey is easily frightened, at times pushy, but also an optimist with heart. Excellent singer and comic actor of any ethnicity/any size/any gender with a huge personality. **We will be considering both male and female actors for this role**
**All Ensemble Actors must be exceptionally strong actors/singers who move extraordinarily well and are confident and adept at creating fully realized, strong, textured characters. The ensemble plays a wide variety of roles.We are seeking full range of male & female voices including excellent low-reaching Altos, experienced Mezzos and Sopranos, Basses, Baritones & Tenors**
DRAGON / MAMA BEAR
(Alto/Soprano with Big R&B Belt in the tradition of Aretha Franklin; F3 to F5)
Dragon is dangerous, fierce, imposing, flirtatious, and bodacious. Excellent singer/actor of any ethnicity/any size with a rock-solid R&B voice who moves well. Excellent comedic timing is a must.
PETER PAN / ANTELOPE
(Alto or Soprano)
Excellent singer/actor of any ethnicity/any size who dances extremely well. Advanced Ballet / Jazz / Tap dance technique, skill at mimicking Rafiki from Disney’s the Lion King and excellent comedic timing is a must.
**For this role we are seeking an actor who self-identifies as a performer of colour**
PIED PIPER / KNIGHT / GUARD
(Bass or Baritone)
Excellent singer/actor of any ethnicity/any size who sings and dances extremely well. Advanced Ballet / Jazz / Tap dance technique, excellent partnering skills, comedic timing and comfort with physical comedy is a must.
PIG #2 / GUARD / GREETER
(Baritone or Tenor)
Excellent singer/actor of any ethnicity/any size who sings and dances extremely well. Advanced Ballet / Jazz / Tap dance technique, excellent comedic timing, comfort with physical comedy, and comfort with a German accent is a must.
MAD HATTER / GUARD / DISH
(Bass, Baritone, or Tenor)
Excellent dancer of any ethnicity/any size who sings well. Advanced Ballet / Jazz / Tap dance technique, excellent partnering skills, comedic timing and comfort with physical comedy is a must.
