Teaching Artist for August
Jillian is beyond excited to be a part of the first ever Camp Rainbow and feels it will be an amazing outlet for all involved to explore the many facets of the arts. For Jillian, Rainbow Stage was a fundamental part of getting her start in musical theatre. Her very first show ever was Rainbow’s 2003 production of Joseph’s Dreamcoat and she also performed in Annie in 2012. Jillian studied theatre arts at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton. Then, through ACI Manitoba, she was mentored by Brenda Gorlick in musical theatre choreography. She also studied voice with Kelly Robinson through Prep Studies at the University of Manitoba. Jillian has been teaching workshops in dance and choreography since 2008. Recently, she choreographed Mr. Burns: A post-electric play for District Theatre Collective and just prior to that, she played ‘Martha’ in Winnipeg Studio Theatre’s production of Heathers. There’s nothing Jillian loves more than teaching, because it allows her to constantly learn and grow through working with the students. She finds their passion to be infectious, and can’t wait to see what the summer has in store.
