Carson previously directed Rainbow Stage’s A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline and Footloose. He has appeared in Rainbow Stage’s West Side Story, The Producers, Mary Poppins, The Buddy Holly Story, Hairspray, Cats, Peter Pan, Grease and Miss Saigon. In 2013 he was an inaugural participant in Rainbow Stage’s Artist in Residence Program. Other directing credits include Manitoba Theatre for Young People’s James And The Giant Peach. Carson would like to thank Sharon, Theodore and the rest of his family for their incredible support.
Gerry Atwell has performed on keyboards and vocals in some of Winnipeg’s favorite bands including Ministers of Cool, Rockalypso and Eagle & Hawk with whom he won a Juno Award. Gerry studied Theatre with University of Manitoba’s Black Hole Company and has written and produced stage plays, films and radio drama. Ring of Fire is Gerry’s first appearance at Rainbow Stage as a performer.
Jeffrey is proud to assistant direct for Rainbow Stage on Ring Of Fire after spending many years performing under the dome. You may remember Jeffrey as ‘Scarecrow’ in Wizard Of Oz, ‘Reuben’ in Joseph’s Dreamcoat or ‘Ethan’ in The Full Monty. Other favourite performances include Crazy For You, Footloose, Chicago and Mary Poppins. This production marks the first time Jeffrey has been asked to join a creative team at Rainbow Stage and he could not be more excited to use his skill set to support the vision of his friend and mentor, Carson Nattrass. Jeffrey’s recent director and/or choreographer adventures include Grease (Glenlawn), Krummhorn Castle (White Rabbit), Bloodsuckers: The Musical (KTG), Guys and Dolls, Little Shop of Horrors (MDA), Burnin’ Love (PTE) and creating unique entertainment for corporate and charitable events with YPO, BOMA, and The Never Alone Foundation. These past two years, Jeffrey has been part of the Rainbow Stage office team, facilitating in education and outreach events and co-ordinating some of the budding Conservatory programs built by Artistic Director, Ray Hogg. These events include the 60th Anniversary Alumni Picnic, the Actor’s Intensive, Encore 2015: Capture The Experience, the 2016 Music Theatre Conference – Teen Edition and most recently Camp Rainbow. Jeffrey is so grateful to be part of the Rainbow family at large and eager to help build the next generation of theatre creators and goers out here in beautiful Kildonan Park. From when he was very young, Jeffrey was mentored by Ken Peter, who lovingly nicknamed him ‘Spatz’. Ken was his teacher, his inspirer, his friend and as Ken took the helm as Rainbow’s Executive Producer in 1998, he became Jeffrey’s mentor and employer. Jeffrey finds it so inspiring that many of the new initiatives he is involved with at Rainbow now are in line with the long-time dreams and visions Ken had for the theatre. Jeffrey would like to dedicate his work on this special year of activity at Rainbow Stage in Ken’s memory.
Scott is very excited to be returning for the 2016 season! For Rainbow, Scott has designed the lighting for 24 productions in 15 years. Scott is looking forward to working with all the fantastic artists and technicians at Rainbow Stage this year. Special thanks to Karen, Sean and Alex for their love and support. Ksenia’s first professional credit was a Rainbow apprenticeship; she’s thrilled to return for her first full professional design! Currently in the University of Alberta MFA Theatre Design program, Ksenia is a UWinnipeg grad with training from ACI MB and Off the Wall Artist’s Alliance. Credits include work with RMTC, RWB, and PTE and designs for U of A, UW, WST, Pocket Frock, Sarasvàti, and MTYP School. Upcoming: 3 shows at the U of A, including her thesis! Gilles has melded a vast musical experience into a highly individualized musical signature. He is extremely fluent in most languages of music from world beat to jazz and has worked as a professionally for over 30 years as a performer, band leader, composer, producer and educator.

He is at home with all styles of music supporting such artists as the MariJosée, Daniel ROA, Cara Luft, JD Edwards The Duhks,, John K Samson, Steve Bell, as well as children’s entertainers Jake Chenier, Al Simmons and Fred Penner.
Of all his career highlights, Jeff is most excited for the release of his first studio album, “Ghosts in the Pipes”, which features him in the roles of songwriter, arranger, producer, and principle performer, and which also features session work by Canadian musicians Brian MacMillan, Will Armstrong, Thom Hammerton, and Corrina Keeling, and post-production by respected Candian engineer/producer Andy Magoffin. jeffgiles.ca
Jesse is a fiddler from London Ontario. He has become a recurring company member at the Victoria Playhouse Petrolia since 2012 including five headlining productions, and has performed at the Stratford Festival, Drayton Entertainment, America’s Got Talent, various venues in Nashville and the Claremont Folk Festival in California. He is thrilled to join the family circle at Rainbow Stage for the first time! Enjoy the show!
Elena is thrilled to be making her Rainbow Stage debut this summer in Ring of Fire. Recent credits include The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Wasteland Productions) and Bloodless (White Rabbit Productions). Elena is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance at the University of Manitoba under the tutelage of Tracy Dahl. Though singing has always been her first love, Elena studied violin for twelve years, and is so excited to bring the violin out again this summer! Allison holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Composition from the University of Calgary and frequently performs around Calgary and BC with her jazz quartet. Tom has been acting and playing music across Canada for over ten years. His first album, Romantic Fitness, is available on Bandcamp and iTunes. Watch for him this December in the zone41/West End Cultural Centre production of Shakespeare’s Richard II, featuring live music performed by Royal Canoe.
Rena is a singer/songwriter and classically trained pianist who also plays guitar. She has made a career of performing on stage in various night clubs and soft seaters across Canada with full bands as well as a solo artist. She has covered every genre of music from rock, pop, country, jazz and swing.
Some of the highlights of her career include performing with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and playing at the New Orleans Jazz Festival this past year with Juno award winning band Eagle and Hawk.
Rena has also played various roles in tribute acts including Christine McVie (Fleetwood Mac) Frieda (Abba tribute) and June Carter (Johnny Cash tribute with DJ St. Germaine). She also has a passion for acting, has pursued “extra” work in various Winnipeg film productions and is looking forward to expanding her talents in that area.
Kaitlyn is elated to be making her Rainbow Stage debut in this toe tappin’ show. Since completing her BFA in Acting from the University of Regina, Kaitlyn has trained in Toronto with CBC’s Triple Sensation, Edmonton at the Banff/Citadel Professional Theatre Program, and in Regina with the Globe Theatre Conservatory.
